Queens Car Rentals and Queens Golf
Golf in Queens has grown in popularity since the four local golf courses were refurbished in the early 2000s. Forest Park, Clearview Park, Douglaston, and Kissena Park are all public golf courses owned by New York City and managed by the American Golf Corporation. Below is your guide to some of the best golfing found in Queens!
Forest Park Golf Course
Forest Park is the third largest park in Queens with 538 acres of trees and fields and is considered a jewel of a park in Queens, New York. Bordering the area are the neighborhoods of Richmond Hill, Kew Gardens, Forest Hills, Glendale, and Woodhaven. The Forest Park Golf Course is on the western edge of Forest Park, just off the Jackie Robinson Parkway. This 18-hole, 6000 yard course is considered one of the best New York City golf courses. It's open year round from dawn until dusk. The course is located at 101 Forest Park Drive, Woodhaven, New York. You can get there by your Queens car rental by taking the Jackie Robinson Pkwy to exit 4, Forest Park Drive.
Clearview Golf Course
The Clearview Golf Course is mostly flat with straight fairways. It is a great course for beginner and intermediate golfers. The fairways are straight and fairly open. It's also has a great location, just south of the Throgs Neck Bridge at 202-12 Willets Point Blvd., Bayside, NY. Getting there in your Queens car rental is easy by Clearview Expressway to exit 7, Willets Point Blvd then left onto Willet Point Blvd and then left into parking lot. If your Queens car rentals has you coming from Cross Island (south), take exit 33, and then right into the parking lot. Or coming from the north to exit 32, turn left under highway and right onto Bell/Willets Point. Continue under Cleaview and turn left into the parking lot. There is a small fee for parking your Manhattan car rental, but you may be able to find some free street parking on 202nd Street.
Douglaston Golf Course
A par 67, the Douglaston Golf Course has five challenging 3-par holes. It's located in eastern Queens, right where the Cross Island, LIE, and Grand Central converge. Formerly the North Hills Country Club, the Douglaston Golf Course is on the highest ground in Queens, giving views of the Manhattan skyline on a clear day. The course was renovated in 2004, so if you will be a returning guest but haven't been since 2004, you are in for a treat! Hop in your Manhattan car rental and head down Grand Central Pkwy to exit 24, Little Neck Pkwy. Head north onto Little Neck Pkwy and take a left on 61st Ave. Continue on with a left on Marathon Parkway. Stay right at fork enter the parking lot immediately on the right.
Kissena Golf Course
Located just 20 minutes from Midtown Manhattan, the Kissena Park Golf Course is one of New York City's hidden gems. Considered one of the best executive public courses in New York, these 18-holes of par 3's and 4's represent a challenge to both seasoned players and beginners. The Kissena Golf Course is on the eastern side of Kissena Park.
Hop in your Manhattan car rental down to the Long Island Expressway to Utopia Parkway, exit 25. From Horace Harding access road, turn north on Utopia then left on Booth Memorial Ave (first light). Continue one and a half blocks and you will be on golf course parking lot on right
